Unfortunately...I was one of those poor souls who fell into the trap that was the Cloverfield viral campaign. It was Just the rush of attempting to find out the secrets of the movie before it came out. I have just learned of a similar viral campaign for the JJ Abrams/Stephen Speilberg Team-up movie "Super 8". I Have taken the fall and have followed this campaign so that you don't have to. So Far this is what I've Found Out...
(WARNING-IF YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE LUNATICS THAT DON"T WANT TO KNOW WHAT A MOVIE IS ABOUT BEFORE THEY SEE IT [WHICH FRANKLY NOWADAYS CONSISTS OF SEEING THE TRAILER]THEN NAVIGATE AWAY FROM THIS PAGE NOW!!!)
The Three websites that the Viral consists of are Super8-movie.com, Scariestthingieversaw.com, and rocketpoppeteers.com. Followers (as I call them)followed a trail of breadcrumbs left by the mysterious trailer (Which if you haven't seen it then you are wasting your own time and need to see it on YouTube immediately)to these sites. Super8-Movie is the only obvious one, bu the other two are tricky. The Followers thought to decode the words that flashed through the lens in the trailer and found that they spelled "Scariest thing i ever saw" thus leading them to that site. Scariestthingieversaw consists of various code sequences on an ancient computer and is nearly impossible to navigate (I bet JJ Abrams is laughing pretty hard at that one) But, of course the followers came through. they DID navigate the site and got some old newspaper clipping with a hidden message (NO i will not post a link, you're already on the computer, GOOGLE IT)The clipping also led to the third site, which is offline. But...Based on the clues i have come up with possible plot synopsis

Several young filmmakers, filming with Super 8 cameras in Ohio, accidentally catch something on film they weren't supposed to (Possible theories include Aliens to Government experimented super-children, or even both)and now they are on the run (Either from the government, or from the Alien/Superchild).
